Typing Scripture ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for the personal data collected through ScriptureType. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.

• Account data: email address and authentication information when you create an account.
• Usage data: verses practiced, typing accuracy, words per minute, learned verses, streaks, and badges.
• Device and log data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and app crash or error logs.
• Support data: messages and correspondence when you contact us for help.

How we use your data

• To create and manage your account.
• To provide the typing practice service and track your progress.
• To improve the app, fix bugs, and understand how learners use the service.
• To keep the service secure and prevent fraud or abuse.
• To respond to your support requests.
• To send service-related emails (for example, password resets or billing notices).

Legal basis for processing

We process your data where necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the service), where we have a legitimate interest (security, fraud prevention, product improvement), where you have given consent (for example, optional analytics cookies), or where we are required by law.

Who we share data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted recipients:

• Service providers: hosting, analytics, authentication, and customer-support tooling.
• Paddle: our Merchant of Record, which processes payments, subscriptions, tax compliance, and invoicing on our behalf.
• Professional advisers: legal, accounting, or other advisers when necessary.
• Authorities: when required by law or to protect our rights.

International transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside the country where you live. When we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or rely on adequacy decisions where available.

Data retention

We keep your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable time, unless we are required to keep it longer by law.

Your rights

Children's privacy

ScriptureType is designed for K–8 learners. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without appropriate parental consent. If you believe we have collected data from a child without proper consent, please contact us.
