Typing the Words of Jesus: Red Letter Lessons
Many Bibles print the words Jesus spoke in red. This collection turns those same words into typing lessons. Students practice keyboarding on the sayings of Christ instead of filler sentences, so the fifteen minutes spent at the keyboard also count as Scripture time.
What makes Red Letters good practice text
- Short and memorable: most sayings fit on one line, which suits beginners learning home row position.
- Repeated phrasing: lines like "I am the way" and "I am the light of the world" reinforce common letter patterns.
- Memory friendly: these are the verses families most often memorize anyway.

A four-week Red Letter rotation
Week one, type the calling verses. Week two, the I Am sayings. Week three, the comfort passages. Week four, the commands to love. By the end of a month a student has typed the core teaching of the Gospels and has real keyboarding numbers to show for it.
